 Adventure Time originally called Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is an animated television series created by Pendleton Ward and Mike Holmes , starring two best friends (and adoptive siblings) : Finn , a child who loves adventures, and Jake , a dog with magical powers who live in the "Land of OOO" . In September 2008 , the short set to appear on Cartoon Network was officially approved to become a series on the same channel .
